Jobsearch.com.au

First five days in Melbourne were good enough in terms of short trips to Penguin Parade, Crown plaza and a City trip. But soon after the pleasure being in Melbourne, it was time to start surfing through so called employment sites.

What I mean is pretty much self explanatory. Am sick of these sites - seek.com.au, mycareer.com.au and careerone.com.au. These sites are the main source to get a job here in Australia and very few companies will put up their direct requirement on these sites. Most of the companies (not less than 90% of companies) are hiring their resources through reputed consultants. Like Hays, Skilled, Hudson, MichaelPage, Australian wide personnel, Bay side and so on and on. It’s really a hard time for me to get the initial break over here as most of the consultants will try to freeze the position starting with local experience, especially for the kind of job I learnt to do.

On the other side, am lucky enough to have a friend like Patil and his family who is here from past three yrs and now taking good care of me. I also met couple of my batch mates and they are really enjoying their good time here in Melbourne as well some of them in other Metros.
Am finding it pretty hard to get used to this lonely environment because it was almost more than a year and half that I spent most of my time with our family, relatives and this was after ten years of my stay outside the home. I enjoyed my every minute I spent with Aaadi and Dundu – they are the little masters from thirty three village landlord My Grandpa. It was always weekends or when I used to be sick, but this time it was the package. It’s hard time for someone like me being an extrovert.

Lemme keep my fingers crossed, keep scrolling through the sites and hope for the best.
